Rogier van Willigen
Who are you?
My name is Rogier van Willigen (26) and I live strong.
Current occupation?
Student majoring in Chemistry at Leiden University (M.Sc.) and a small web-entrepreneur on the side.
Residence?
I live with four great friends in a pittoresque student-house in Leiden.
Why blog?
I started a personal website when I studied at Princeton to help keep contact with my friends. I started blogging after I was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) in June 2004 to inform on my treatment. Now that treatment has finished, I’m merely fooling around here. Mostly, I blog about my recovery and my travels.
Sports?
Korfball at Pernix, all-out-squash with friends and running.
Current projects?
I am finishing up a research project (internship) at the Nederlands Kanker Instituut / Antoni van Leeuwenhoek ziekenhuis (the Netherlands Cancer Institute) in order to graduate from Leiden. I’m trying to find time to expand Dutch Odyssey and build SpelletjesOverzicht.nl. And I run a lot in order to finish the New York City Marathon on my birthday this year.
