Good x-ray results!
Last Friday, I got the results of my x-ray of the week before and they were good
:D!! This was such a relief!
When Hodgkin-tumours diminish due to chemotherapy/radiotherapy they leave some scar-tissue (”littekenweefsel”) behind. With this x-ray you can see whether the remaining scar tissue changed compared to the CT-scan done last April after my treatments were completed. And the x-ray showed what you would hope for : there was no increase at all of the remaining mass, implying all cancercells have been destroyed! My radiotherapist said that if she looked very well she might even discern a tiny decrease in the size of the remaining scar-tissue. Your body works to over time remove scar-tissue, as it does when you have a scar on your skin.
Oh Man. Last week was not my best week - but this made everything up. That afternoon I was very tired - and Sanne nearly fell asleep with some guests present in my room! The knowledge of getting the results of such an important thing are quite sleep-shortening and energy-consuming, I guess.
My next appointment with a doctor is in November and my next x-ray check will be in February, so that’s quite a while down the road.
My doctor told me to start making plans for the future - so that’s what I’m going to do!
