WestCoast 5 : All LA

Los Angeles is quite a BIG city!! It consists of many many many different cities, with independent flavours. We stayed in a great hotel next to the beach in Santa Monica – perhaps the nicest area in LA.

We drove through Hollywood (trashy!), Beverly Hills (definitely not trashy!!), Venice Beach (weird people), South Park (many homeless), Financial Center (NY’s atmosphere) and Pasadena (CalTech and nice).

Locals kept stricking up conversations (why we weren’t married, for instance), we went to the movies (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!), the beach and… to Universal Studios Hollywood! Universal Studios is a themepark with amazingly fat people with horrible children, but amazingly fun rides. Sanne pushed me in the Jurrasic Park-ride… which meant we made 84-foot fall into the water with our tree-carriage. Nice.
The Waterworld Show is definitely the most spectacular. A great show with real actors who soaked all the audience and had a lot of fun in a big bowl of water. You really have to go there to believe it.

    Hi Sanne and Rogier,

Though I do not really know why, I will also be writing in English! Looks like you are having a greate time, like I just had in Budapest! We did have a lot of fun there as we also had at the tournament (though the parties where not like we are used to in NL; the music at night sucked bad times and the audience was not really overwelming either). Of course we held up the SKV Amsterdam-pride and some of us did not leave the party until the early hours (not me…)

Of course some nice gossips and affaires, but those will be puplished on the website…

Enjoy yourselves there and have loads of fun (and yes, WHY are you not married?!!), so you can tell us all about it on the next Borrel!

    Greetings Ingrid
