Rogier’s Road to Recovery

After Monterey, we left for Los Angeles through route 1 – also dubbed Scenic Highway 1 and with reason! It closely follows the coastline and yields spectacular views along the way! We stopped at least every 200 meters to take pictures (so we really have a lot of them!).

Close to Monterey there is the ‘17-mile drive’ with stunning scenery, extraordinary villas for the super-rich and the world-famous Pebble Beach Golf Course… Of course, Sanne and I went into the accompanying restaurant (‘Lobby’) but we didn’t dare to order any drinks .

Route 1 lead us through lovely villages like Carmel (where we ate), San Luis Obispo (where we ate even more) and Santa Barbara (where we… slept).
